A recent announcement at the San Diego Comic-Con had left 6,500+ spectators a little speechless when Disney announced that they were rebooting their Haunted Mansion ride into a new movie. The 2003 family comedy didn’t leave a lasting impression on many people.
But the crowd went nuts when they announced that Pan’s Labyrinth director Guillermo del Toro would be directing the project. He confirmed that he is going to make it scary and will not stick to the family friendly nature of the first film, but it will remain with the guidelines of Disney, which isn’t bad when you look at the Pirates films which are significantly darker than most Disney fare.
